Company
Touchstone Wireless was formed in 2005 when two companies merged and three entrepreneurs – Brian Itterly of Souderton, Penn., and brothers Allen and Rick Hurley of Bristol, Tenn. – decided to redefine the world of wireless handset remanufacturing. They’ve done this by inviting some of the best minds in the wireless industry to join them on this unparalleled breakthrough venture – knowing that innovation and imagination in a dynamic industry like the wireless world are a must to stay ahead of the competition.
Itterly, Touchstone’s CEO, founded one of the companies, Eastern Wireless LP, from his garage in 1999. Prior to forming his own company, he worked as a retail broker for a Motorola radio repair business and eventually served as director of operations and business development for Cellular Evolution, one of the first U.S. companies to provide repair and refurbishment services for the wireless phone industry.
Allen Hurley, Touchstone president, and Rick Hurley, the company’s chief operations officer, co-founded the other company, Image 1 Wireless Inc., also from their garage in 1998. Allen Hurley has more than 18 years of experience in the field, having previously held technical and sales positions for carriers such as GTE, Centel Cellular, Sprint Cellular and 360 Communications. At one time, Hurley owned four wireless retail outlets in Tennessee. |
